Want to be Successful? Be Decisive, One Step at a Time.
The great Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, The Law of Success, and many other books that lay out the path to success said, Opportunity never sneaks up on those who straddle the fence of indecision.
Hill made no bones about it: Successful people are decisive people, because they know that indecision wastes time that could otherwise be invested in productive tasks.
Hill also said they generally implement their decisions gradually, with each action based on the success of the one before it.
One step at a time.
The easiest decision-making process in the world:
Draw a line down the center of a sheet of paper. Title the columns “pros” and “cons.” Now list all the advantages and disadvantages of the decision.
In the end, you will have a clear picture of the consequences – positive and negative – of any decision, and the choice should be very apparent.
Think that sounds too simple? One of history’s wisest men, Benjamin Franklin, used this technique.
We do, too. Will you?
